Van Oord Chooses DENS Powerhubs for Emission-Free Dike Reinforcement

For the dike reinforcement between Tiel and Waardenburg, Van Oord is aiming for a fully emission‑free construction site. Using mobile DENS Powerhubs, electric excavators are charged on location, without a grid connection and without emissions. The project is considered one of the first large‑scale infrastructure projects in the Netherlands to be carried out almost entirely electrically.

Low-emission sheet piling along the Maas: the Powerhub operated by Sterk BV

During the Meanderende Maas project in Lithoijen, Sterk is working on a quieter and cleaner approach to foundation work. Using electric foundation machines and a DENS Powerhub, sheet piles are installed with a strong focus on reducing emissions, resulting in lower environmental impact and less disturbance for the surrounding area. The project demonstrates that sustainable heavy foundation work is already fully achievable in practice today.
