Grid congestion occurs when electricity demand or supply overwhelms the existing network capacity. To support the energy transition, Omexom is expanding the grid under TenneT’s commission. At Rozenburg-Zuid, the new high-voltage station will deliver extra capacity to Haarlemmermeer. Meanwhile, Omexom has designed the temporary logistics park to be as sustainable as possible by deploying a mobile DENS Powerhub for intelligent energy storage.

Self-Sufficient Site with Solar Energy and Battery Storage

The Rozenburg-Zuid logistics park is fully self-sufficient: mobile workshops and insulated containers sport 55 solar panels that generate clean power for lighting, tool charging, and replenishing portable batteries.

“This setup makes our workspace cleaner, more flexible and more pleasant,” explains Gerrit Noorlander.

With a storage capacity of 290 kWh, the DENS Powerhub reliably supplies clean energy across the site. It also addresses grid congestion by temporarily boosting the local connection’s capacity and covering peak loads. “We’re no longer dependent on a fixed grid hookup. That makes our site flexibly deployable,” adds Noorlander.

Omexom ensures all energy is generated and stored on-site. The Powerhub’s smart control seamlessly switches between solar generation, battery storage and the grid, keeping grid draw to a minimum.

Intelligent Energy Management for Maximum Efficiency

Thanks to advanced software that integrates with the solar array, energy distribution is optimized in real time. “The Powerhub automatically balances solar input, stored power and grid draw to keep our grid consumption as low as possible. This frees up extra capacity and lets us electrify even more processes,” says Noorlander.
