SSEB makes purchasing a DENS Powerhub even more attractive

Published on Tuesday 22 July 2025 by DENS

With the SSEB subsidy, the Dutch government reimburses up to €100 per kWh for mobile battery packs. With 50% of the budget still available and applications closing on October 31, 2025, now is the perfect moment to purchase a DENS Powerhub.

What is the SSEB ?

The Clean and Zero-Emission Construction Equipment Subsidy (SSEB) is a Dutch national subsidy designed to financially support construction and infrastructure companies transitioning to emission-free machinery. The SSEB covers a significant portion of the additional costs for new, zero-emission construction equipment, support functions, and charging infrastructure.

Charging infrastructure covered by SSEB

Under this subsidy, all mobile power supplies and charging stations that provide electricity to emission-free construction machinery are categorized as charging infrastructure. The aim is to replace diesel generators with cleaner alternatives. A Powerhub supplies silent, emission-free power to electric excavators, cranes, and chargers in locations without grid connections, exactly the functionality the SSEB considers ‘charging infrastructure’.

Purchasing a battery pack with subsidy

The DENS Powerhub is available in capacities ranging from 145 kWh to 2,320 kWh, comfortably exceeding the 50 kWh minimum requirement. Depending on your business size, you receive a fixed SSEB subsidy per kWh of storage capacity.

Reduce your investment costs

The total SSEB budget for 2025 is €48 million, with 50% still available (as of July 7, 2025).

With substantial funding still on hand, acquiring a battery pack is now even more appealing. Applying right away increases your chances of securing funding for charging infrastructure, significantly lowering upfront investment. This reduction in initial capital means lower total cost of ownership and a payback period shortened by several months.

Funding is on a first-come, first-served basis, so don’t wait until the budget runs out

Conditions and SSEB application in practice

If your construction or rental company is registered in the Netherlands with an eligible SBI-code? you can apply online yourself via the RVO eLoket, provided you have eHerkenning level 3.

Make sure you submit a complete dossier before October 31, 2025, as applications are processed in the order they are received. A complete dossier must include a purchase or lease agreement, or a quote signed by both parties, with a cancellation condition specifying “subsidy granted”, plus technical specifications of the battery pack.

DENS is happy to assist with all necessary technical documentation. You simply add your company details, sign, and submit directly. This way, you secure your place in line and reduce your total cost of ownership from day one.

Why choose a DENS Powerhub?

The DENS mobile battery system is designed to immediately supply clean, silent power to your construction or infrastructure project. Thanks to its high storage capacity and robust build, it reliably delivers power day and night, helping you comply with increasingly strict emission regulations and construction-site requirements.

  • Work emission-free – no diesel means zero CO₂, NOx, or particulate emissions on-site
  • High capacity (up to 2,320 kWh) – enough power for heavy electric equipment
  • Plug-and-play – ready to operate within 5 minutes of setup
  • Modular scalability – connect additional battery packs or integrated DC chargers
  • Smart management – real-time monitoring and 24/7 support for optimal energy use

Act now

Experience shows that SSEB budgets are quickly exhausted. While the fixed subsidy per kWh remains and funds are still available, you know exactly where you stand. But only if you act promptly.
