About DENS

DENS develops and delivers advanced mobile energy and battery solutions for demanding sectors — from construction and ports to critical infrastructure and inland shipping. We are a fast-growing company of around 170 people, founded as a TU/e spin-off and based in Helmond, the Netherlands. We design, engineer and build in house, which means high voltage, battery chemistry and heavy installations are part of our daily work.

QHSE in practice

At DENS, quality and safety take shape in conversation with engineering, production and service. Together with them you work out what genuinely works.

Setting direction and joining in

This role is strategic and operational at the same time. You set the course for QHSE within DENS while being visible in the workshop. That way you know how the work is really done, and your agreements stay connected to daily practice.

Responsibilities

• Setting up and organising the QHSE function: from baseline assessment and priorities to workable processes
• Supporting our growth ambition from a QHSE perspective — more countries, more customers, higher demands
• Achieving and maintaining ISO standards and certifications
• Embedding quality, safety and environment in the daily practice of engineering, production and service
• Advising management, engineering and production where the standard offers no ready-made answer
• Carrying out risk assessments, incident analyses, audits and workplace inspections, and making the improvements stick
• Guiding customer and certification audits
• Training and involving colleagues: safety as a habit rather than a checklist

Who are you?

• Bachelor or master level in safety science, environmental science, industrial engineering or similar
• Several years of QHSE experience in a technical manufacturing or installation environment
• Proven experience with ISO certification programmes — you know what an auditor needs to see and what the shop floor can carry
• Pragmatic and solution-oriented: you make agreements that are actually used in practice
• Visible and approachable — equally at ease on the work floor and in meetings with the board
• Convincing without lecturing: people come along because your reasoning makes sense to them
• Fluent in both Dutch and English, good spoken command of both languages is a requirement

The assignment

We are moving more and more from project-based building to series production, in more countries and with higher customer demands. You start on your own and grow the function along with the company: from first certification to a department that can carry our growth.
