The function:

DENS is looking for an ambitious controller to join the Finance team.

You support the Finance department with administration, reports, investment rounds, bank loans and financial issues. You work closely with colleagues and the CEO and CFO.

At DENS we have developed a Hydrozine engine, a system that generates hydrogen on the basis of a liquid hydrogen carrier and converts it into electrical energy in a fuel cell. DENS now applies this technique in stationary aggregates, but within the R&D team we are developing the system further for installation in excavators, tractors, ships and other machines.

An impression of your duties:

  • Preparing monthly, quarterly and annual reports, including conducting analyses, for the benefit of shareholders, banks and other stakeholders (both in Dutch and English)
  • Drawing up business plans
  • Providing liquidity forecasts and cash management
  • Drawing up the (consolidated) annual accounts and supervising the audit
  • Ensuring compliance with tax requirements (VPB, VAT, Transfer pricing)
  • The long-term integration of the new foreign organizations into the administrative organisation
  • Further development of Power BI and Visionplanner in the reports
  • Contribute to risk management, internal control and optimizing administrative processes
  • Carrying out internal checks on correct compliance with established procedures
  • Making the translation of the relevant legislation and regulations into daily practice, identifying risks, creating awareness in the organization and thinking along about the strategy
  • Identifying and reporting developments in the financial field
  • Drafting budgets, budgets and making budget forecasts
  • Being a sparring partner for the CEO and CFO
  • Support in investment rounds
  • Contributing to the financial side of subsidy reports
  • Determining cost prices and associated analyses;
  • Being responsible for cyber security

Job Requirements

  • You have completed a university degree in Finance, Business Economics or Accountancy (preferably RA/RC). You supplement this with about 6-8 years of work experience, in which you have laid a solid foundation by gaining experience at (preferably) an accountancy firm
  • You have experience in a production environment or come from an accountancy firm where you have been able to look into these 'company kitchens'
  • Are well aware of the latest legislation and regulations (including subsidies) and know how to apply the RJ
  • You are critical of processes and take initiative in improving these
  • In addition, you have strong communication skills, decisiveness and independence, good presentation skills and thorough knowledge of Exel and Exact Online
  • Good command of the Dutch and English language
  • You can work independently as well as in a team, have a helicopter view and experience in leading a team
  • Finally, you have strong analytical skills and you are attracted to an ambitious organization that is constantly on the move and where you are encouraged to take further steps in your development
